Carrier stands behind these cost effective units with their standard 10-year limited warranty that covers all functional parts of the unit, and pays for labor for 1 year.  Extended warranties are also available from Carrier that may cover labor for up to 10 years.  Some heat pump reviews recommend an extended warranty on any heat pump as good insurance.

Enjoy Great Performance with Expert Installation

Even those with excellent DIY skills shy away from HVAC installation because of the specialized skills and tools required, plus the need for precise calibrations and settings to make sure the system is safe, reliable and operating as it should.  You’ll get the best efficiency, performance and longevity from the system, plus have confidence that no dangerous leaks exist, if a qualified contractor with good experience installs your Carrier 25HBC5 by itself or as part of a hybrid heating and cooling system.

I recently bought a house with a 3 year old Carrier heat pump. In May it stopped cooling.
Problem: Hole in Condenser Coil and burned up heat relays (keep in mind the unit is barely 3 years old.)
Solution: Replace Condenser Coil and relays. Refill with refrigerant.
Cost: Parts covered under warranty; labor and refrigerant = $1,200!
That is the quote I got from the local Carrier dealer. This unit cost $5,500 new 3 years ago and now is going to cost $1,200 to repair. That is ridiculous. I contacted Carrier customer service, and they basically told me to take a hike, they can’t do anything. What a lowsy company! If you are thinking of buying Carrier BEWARE!!! Their products are poor quality and their customer service is even worse!
