American Standard
American Standard has been a household name for more than 130 years! From its very popular line-up of heating, cooling, clean air and plumbing products, to some of the more advanced technology you don't hear much about, they have remained focused and committed to the highest quality standards you expect from a Premium HVAC equipment manufacturer!
American Standard and Trane
Like most of the other major manufacturers in the HVAC industry, American Standard is also positioned very closely to another quality product, Trane! In fact, aside from some of the equipment badging and small differences in the part numbers, they are identical in most aspects, except price! While the pricing between the two companies varies depending on the sales volume of the contractor, the quality is the same! The bottom line is that if you have a Trane quote already, you should check the HVAC Directory, or check the American Standard dealer directory, and find a contractor near you, who may possibly deliver the same quality at a lower price!
American Standard Warranty on Internet Purchased HVAC
American Standard's Warranty on Internet purchases, seems to be like most others... they simply do not address the issue on their website. This is becoming a BAD situation for homeowners who may find good bargains on American Standard equipment, but have no way to know if it will be covered by the manufacturer, should it break down.
Over the 2 years we sold HVAC equipment online, we DID sell a bit of American Standard equipment. That led to an immediate cease and desist letter from our local supply house, after contractor complained that their customer had already bought the equipment online. Of course, we stopped immediately, but still got no direct answer on whether Internet purchases were covered or not, and if so, were there conditions that had to be met.
We have tried several times to contact American Standard in reference to Internet purchased equipment and the warranty... updates will be posted on this page as they come in.
**Update: Received a Reply from the American Standard information request form in regard to warranty on Internet purchases. Shown below, is their reply.
