Buying HVAC Online

7

A very common and often understood question, revolves around the purchase of HVAC Equipment online. For several years, we too promoted and sold various brands of equipment to consumers who were interested in purchasing their equipment directly, versus dealing with local contractors. The most important aspect of buying a gas furnace, air conditioner or heat pump online, concerns the safety of you and your family and whether or not the equipment will retain a warranty from the manufacturer.

If you have not been advised by a professional in the industry, you should NEVER attempt to do this project on your own. There are many issues dealing with safety, proper sizing, and several other factors that must be considered.

    Hello,

I’m looking a American Standard Air Conditioning Unit to purchase online to install in my home. Does anyone know where I can purchase one direct online.

    Thank you

    @ John –

The only place you are going to have any luck is eBay. American Standard (Aka Trane) is VERY FAST about shutting down ANYWHERE they find their equipment being sold online.

The feel it hurts their local dealers… and prohibit the sales.

thanks. can I have a small business owner or person that knows who to instill. say, a Trane or American Standard Unit. by searching on craigs list. are they able to get, the equipment if they are licensed and install it in my house.

  4. john says:

can I buy a Trane unit online from the internet. and would anyone know of any good sites to purchase one.

    Thank you

  5. Mark says:

I guess its all relative to how much you may save. If the guy you get can buy their equipment, American Stanrd says they WILL cover the parts warranty still. So as long as the installer covers the install warranty part, you may save considerably!

do I save the most, by finding where to purchase a Trane unit online. when use craigs list to try and find a good price on installation. and if, i were to find a licensed contractor. would the warranty be valid.

the contractor makes a fair amount of there fee. by marking up the equipment.

Just being real… but if you WANT a TRANE or American Standard, you should probably use one of their preferred dealers. Yes, they mark it up… but if you get 3-4 local quotes, you will get a good price.

If you really want to go the lowest cost route – find a local guy who installs Goodman, Payne or Bryant. The equipment quality is not the same but you will save thousands…

    3 ton Trane AC/Furnace installed – $7500
    3 ton Bryant AC/Furnace installed $4500
