York and Carrier Help Where it is Needed Most

In July, York, will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its Building Homes for Heroes program. York is a Johnson Controls brand. Building Homes for Heroes (BHH), has as its mission, “rebuilding the lives of and supporting the brave men and women who were injured while serving the country during the time of the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan.” BHH has helped nearly 50 veterans in five years.

Carrier recently donated 100 complete HVAC systems to Habitat for Humanity families in the Houston area that had been impacted by 2017’s Hurricane Harvey. Here’s a great video about the program.

Renovate America Tops 100,000 Energy Star Upgrades

PACE, or Property Assessed Clean Energy financing allows property owners to make energy-efficient improvements with affordable loans. Some are zero-down loans. Many require loan payments in the amount of energy cost savings, so the improvements essentially pay for themselves.

Renovate America in San Diego, a large PACE lender, recently passed 100,000 loans for Energy Star equipment. The improvements are saving homeowners and estimated $1 billion per year in energy costs. PACE funding is available in every state.

Demand for Top of the Line ACs is Growing

The desire to have an air conditioner or heat pump that is more efficient and offers superior indoor comfort is driving the market. Most major brands are seeing growth in sales of their top lines. A Pro Looks at Summer AC Trouble

This video from HVAC Learning Solutions is aimed at HVAC technicians, but there’s a lot to learn for homeowners too. First, you’ll have a good idea what might be wrong with your AC/heat pump if it stops working or is under-performing. Secondly, the video will help you dialogue with the technician.
