For example, several brands are making mini split heat pumps that can deliver 100% heating capacity even in outdoor temperatures well below freezing. This makes them an option for cold climates where a gas furnace seemed your only choice just a few years ago. Two top models are the Gree Crown and Crown+ are among those boasting sub-freezing heating and super-high efficiency.

Trane Partners with Mitsubishi in the US Residential Market

If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Mitsubishi is a world leader in efficient HVAC equipment, delivering more heating and air conditioning for less energy spent. Trane has been using Mitsubishi equipment in mini split applications for several years, but now the two HVAC giants have formed a formal partnerships. This is likely to mean higher efficiencies and better indoor comfort options US and Latin American consumers.

Daikin Continues to Invest in America

In 2012, global leader Daikin purchased Goodman Manufacturing, a deal that included the Goodman-owned Amana brand. Daikin has upped its investment in the US with its announcement that it has purchased a manufacturing facility in the Twin Cities suburb of Faribault. The plan is to update and upgrade the facility that is expected to provide 200 jobs.
