Choosing your Trane Packaged Unit

Use this Trane packaged unit price list to compare one Trane with another, or see our packaged unit price lists for Carrier, Lennox, Amana, American Standard and other leading brands.

When choosing a packaged unit, you’ll pay more for a heat pump but get more efficient heating with lower utility bills. The warmer your climate is, the higher the SEER should be. If you live where winter temperatures regularly fall below freezing, you’ll need either a gas pack which is more affordable or a hybrid heat pump system that costs more but saves the most on energy. The reason is that heat pumps are not effective in freezing weather.

If you’ve got questions about which model is best for your home, a qualified contractor in your area will help you match the model to your needs. If your home or building can be served by a split system too, see our HVAC reviews for air conditioners, furnaces and heat pumps from Trane and other top brands.

I am trying to find an economical way to have my A/C unit fixed when I need it. Last year I took out a service contract thinking that would help, but when the A/C went out Sunday, Lee Air Service in Grapevine Tx refused to come, even though my contract is for 24/7 service with priority placement. They finally arrived on Monday at 10:45 and told me the problem was a bad”Induced voltage device”. I asked for a P/N but the tech said their is no P/N for that part. I figured something was fishy, but what could I do – I have cancer, COPD, and hyperthermia from the radiation treatments so I needed my A/C. I was charged $365.00 for the “device” and given a 10% discount since I have a service contract….total paid was $355.60 [tax]. I asked for the bad part, and the tech went to his truck and I watched as he took a key and scratched up the front. But I was able to make out it is actually a capacitor, and was able to find the exact replacement, which would cost me $137.89 overnighted to my door…I was outraged. The tech also said the A/C drip pan has rust and needs replacing, plus I may have problems with the A/C compressor since the capacitor went out. I am a senior citizen, living solo on social security with massive medical bills, and just need to know, is there any company out there that is trustworthy?, and do I need to worry about the compressor?, if yes, how can find out the specifics so I can buy it in advance and not be taken to the bank so badly? I mean it took the guy less than 20 min to swap out the device – that is over $650 per hr. And the rusty drip pan, can I not just use some of that new rubber spray stuff [I've seen on TV] to seal it? Oh please, someone help me, I am so tied in knots right now. thank you, thank you, thank you!
