Bryant Evolution Model 286B 17 SEER Heat Pump Review

The Bryant Evolution 286B heat pump is part of Bryant’s very best line, though not the most efficient in the Evolution series. At 17 SEER cooling, it’s a good choice for homes in moderate and warm climates where cutting energy costs is a priority. This is a 2-stage heat pump that runs on low-capacity most of the time.  The lower, longer cycles keep temperatures in your home more balanced throughout, with little noticeable fluctuation.  The unit runs on high only when temperatures outside change quickly or you call for a boost in heating or cooling. Pair the Evolution 286B 17 SEER heat pump with a variable-speed air handler for maximum control of indoor comfort.

The Value of Proper Installation and Maintenance

The biggest reasons that good heat pumps fail are faulty installation and a lack of ongoing maintenance. Both of these issues can be avoided when you hire a qualified contractor with good experience to install it.  Get multiple estimates and choose the heating and air conditioning company you believe will do the best job for you.  Then keep the system cleaned every few years so that it runs efficiently.  The ongoing service will also prevent problems from occurring or keep small problems from becoming big, expensive ones. When you take these steps, you may enjoy 20 years of quality service from the Bryant Evolution model 286B heat pump.

Please advise where do you install the filter in this unit – Model 286B/289B

Hello, Mary. Perhaps there is some confusion. The filter is installed in your air handler or furnace. There are no filters in the heat pump that a homeowner would change/install.
