I purchased the Carrier Weathermaker 8000 in 1999. It started having problems almost immediately. It would NEVER light correctly and it sounded like it was going to explode. Finally, I couldn’t take it any longer, I contacted Mr. Etheridege, Henson Robinson Company by email. He sent his spokeman out who wanted to cut a large hole in my kitchen wall, with grate to increase airflow. That was in 2006. I told him I would think about it because I never had a hole for my other furnace. The installer measured wrong and I had to cut a larger size furnace filter down and duct tape it together since a regular furnace filter wouldn’t fit. After doing that for a couple years, Mr. Weedman ordered a specially made furnace filter out of St. Louis which I have been using. The furnace still will not light correctly so I had them out here again yesterday, another $173. They are coming AGAIN today because it will try to light for about 10 seconds and then shut down. Then it will light on the 2nd try. My friend stated that duct work is too small and that it should have been bigger to accomadate this size furnace. The installer from Henson Robinson did not know what he was doing. I paid over $2000 for this furnace and I would NEVER recommend this furnace to anyone, nor anyone to ever use Henson Robinson & Co. out of Springfield, IL.
