Carrier Infinity Thermostat Control Review
Regardless of how good your top of the line HVAC equipment is designed to operate, its all for nothing if you don't match it to the right thermostat for the job! For Carrier Infinity Series heating and cooling, there is only one thermostat you should consider... the Carrier Infinity Thermostat control system.
Built into the entire line of Carrier Infinity products are smart sensors, that are designed to communicate with the Infinity Control, allowing the Infinity systems to work at a higher level of intelligence than most home HVAC systems! The information that is sent to the control system is compared to the data from the other sensors, to automatically adjust various settings and provide one of the highest levels of indoor comfort you can get!
Just how smart is it? Several of the new model Infinity Thermostat controls can even send you an email when its time to change the filter!

What Does the Infinity Thermostat Work With?
One of the best features of the Infinity Thermostat in my opinion, is that its designed to work the easiest and most efficiently on ANY product in the Carrier Infinity Series.
The Same Thermostat will work on:
- Infinity Gas Furnaces
- Infinity Heat Pump and Air Handlers
- Carrier Infinity Air Conditioners
- Many other products from Carrier!
Is the Infinity Control Hard to Setup and Use?
Like ANY kind of new technology, the Infinity Control system can be a bit intimidating at first glance! Carrier actually provides ALL of its contractors specialized training to know exactly how to install and configure the Infinity Control, as well as making sure you the final owner know how to use it after they leave! The great thing about the controller however is that its SO EASY to use, that once you walk through it one time, you won't have any problems in the future!
Carrier itself even provides an online tutorial for owners of the thermostat, so they can use all the functions of the unit before they actually do it on their own system! (Open the interactive Guide)
How to Buy an Infinity Thermostat
If you don't have an Infinity System installed, its really not worth the $300 price tag to get an Infinity Control. If you don't have any it... the best thing you can do is go to the Free Estimate page and have a local contractor come to you and provide a full hvac system quote.
If you already have the equipment installed and need to add the controller, you can usually find them on eBay for anywhere between $150-$300 dollars.

Do You Own a Carrier Infinity Thermostat?
If so, please write an owners review below and help others know how you like yours!

Just to let you all know I have the Infinity thermostat the Infinity 96 furnace and the 3 ton Infinity 19 seer heatpump! Wow! This has to be the nicest system I have ever owned. The thermostat is very easy to use. The best part about it is if you would put some command in it you dont like hit default and it goes right back. Would deffinately recomend this system! So far this system has cost me $130 a month during the summer at 90 degrees outside. I have a 2000 sqf home. My last system was costing around 150 to 180 per month so very happy with the savings.
Chris,
Thanks for the comment. The Carrier Infinity is truly an impressive piece of HVAC equipment. If you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay to have it installed. Would be great benefit for our readers.
Thanks!
Ours is less than four years old and has been dying for about a year of that time. We are not quite as happy as some other infinity owners that I have encountered on the internet. The hvac repair guy is coming this afternoon.
carrier infinity sucks overall. The infinity controller is only as good as the installer. I know more about it now than they did. I downloaded the installation specs, adjusted it myself. I paid $400, total ripoff, plus there are different versions. Get the online installation brochure. Will probably swich to a Honyewell. The infintiiy system will run off any thermostat.
Installation is key when it comes to HVAC and that even includes the controller in the Carrier Infinity system.
We have been really pleased with the carrier infinity in our new home so far. Nothing like testing a new a/c with record breaking heat waves right off the bat!! We have a 5 ton unit on the 1st floor split into two zones with an ultra zone controller, and a 2 ton unit on the 2nd floor. I feel like our system is sized just right and I think variable fan speed technology is worth its weight in gold! This is the first time I’ve had a heat pump in Oklahoma so I’m anxious to see what the bills look like this winter. We actually use an emerson touch screen thermostat and they work fine. These t-stats seem to have all of the same applicable controls as the infinity except for automatic dirty filter detection which seems very cool. I would love to try the the infinity control but I feel like they are priced too high? I’m not convinced yet that there is a payback if a $100 t-stat can also operate it? My suggestion to anyone building a new home…upgrade your money into foam insulation, good windows, and caulking first.
