Carrier Corp Continues to Confuse Customers with its Policies

Several months ago, I spoke to a representative named April from Carrier Corp, in reference to the warranty of Carrier brand equipment that is purchased online. Carrier told me that under no circumstances, do they honor Internet purchases. Of course, I KNOW this to be false, since they actively supported the sale of Carrier equipment through US for several years! Now, months after they stated the warranties to be invalid, you have them selling DIRECT to the public!

Funny... Carrier must have no control over its dealers and distribution network, since there is an eBay seller liquidating equipment, and in the auction, it clearly states: "You MUST pick up this equipment from the Pompano Beach Florida Carrier Warehouse!" What is that all about?

Carrier does not authorize sales to ANY one that does not have an HVAC license. If people are selling it on line to homeowners, it is not with Carriers blessing.

    @ Megan –

Thanks for stopping in to comment. Carrier has stated they will not cover items purchased online, but coming from the ecommerce background I have, I will tell you that they gladly sold us equipment to sell online “By the Truckload”, knowing in advance, that we were selling it online.

So – on one hand they say no – but then they continue to source the products to people who sell it online.

We have not sold online in well over two years – but even today, they continue to sell it to resellers, who sell on eBay and other ecommerce websites.
