Carrier Furnaces Just in Time for Heating Season!
Carrier, one of the leading manufacturers of HVAC equipment in North America, has quite a line up of Gas Furnaces for your home! From the every popular and expensive Infinity Series, down to the less efficient Carrier Comfort series furnaces, you are bound to find the right unit for you own needs.
Before you can decide which furnace is right for you, you need to have a bit of understanding about which efficiency is best for your own needs.
AFUE - Annual Fuel Utilization Effeciency, the higher the number... the better! In other words, if a carrier furnace claims 95% AFUE, it is telling you that it will effective provide .95 cents worth of heat for every $1 dollar you pay for fuel, or 95% efficient. Alternatively, an 80% AFUE carrier furnace will only return .80 cents worth of heat, for every $1 you pay for gas!
What AFUE Gas Furnace Should I Buy?
This all bears the question, when do you want a 95% unit? Easy... if you live in a colder climate where you use heat from September through April, or something similar, you will save quite a bit of money on your energy costs, likely paying yourself back for the extra cost of the furnace within 1-2 years! On the other hand, if you live in Florida, where you only heat for 2 months out of the year, and even that is only to knock the chill off in the morning, you will never reclaim the extra expense of a high efficiency unit. NOT to say you shouldnt buy on, but your main focus should be on a higher efficiency air conditioner or heat pump, since that is what you use most!
Where Can I Buy a Carrier Furnace?
It depends on who you ask! If you are a DIY type homeowner who wants to save many thousands of dollars over local dealer pricing, you can buy a Carrier Furnace right on eBay!
Carrier Furnaces on eBay are few and far between! Its not because they are hard to come by, its more of a fact that as soon as they list, they are sold! If you click the link in the upper right, leading to the Inifinity seller on eBay, you may find that there are no, or just a few units left in stock! The replenish stock every week, but as you will see... they sell as quickly as they are listed!
If you dont have luck on eBay, you can always visit the carrier website and search for a local dealer.
