Saving Energy on your Air Conditioning!
Your air conditioner is eating up your power bill and thus your money, every month during the summer.
There are many ways to save money on air conditioning and you can start saving big by doing small changes.
- Change your HVAC air filter once a month. You can remember by doing it when you pay your power bill.
- Install a Programmable Thermostat. When you're at work set it for 80 degrees and then when you get home it can automatically cool the house to 74 degrees.
- Keep your curtains closed during the day or when you are not home. Do this on the west side of the house to block the sun so your house won't get as hot.
- Install a few Cieling Fans! Even though ceiling fans do not cool homes. They make you feel cool.
- Install an Attic Ventilator! That 150 degree attic above your head can actually warm the ductwork that moves the air to your rooms. Cooling the duct means cooler air in the home!
- Replace your Air Conditioner with a High Effiecincy Unit! Nobody wants to replace anything, but if the time is here, you may as well get a high efficiency unit.
Getting started is the hard part... saving money on air conditioning is something we all face! Starting now is the best choice.
